Chatham-Kent receives $460K payment for hosting casino
Summary
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has received a payment of $460,993 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) for hosting Cascades Casino during the fourth quarter. Over the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the municipality received a total of $1,839,337. Since 2001, including revenue from the former Dresden slots, Chatham-Kent has received a cumulative $21,382,260. OLG distributes revenue to host communities based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue, supporting local investments in services and infrastructure. Chatham-Kent–Leamington MPP Trevor Jones emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting municipalities and essential services through these payments. Since 1994, Ontario’s host communities have received nearly $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue, and over the last nine years, service providers have invested over $2.9 billion in the province’s gaming sector.
