A 100-room luxury hotel planned for the one-time Casino de Mallorca
Summary
The one-time Casino de Mallorca in Sol de Mallorca, closed since 2011, has been acquired by Blasson Property, which plans to invest approximately €175 million to transform it into a luxury hotel with about 100 rooms. The site was previously acquired in November 2022 by Cala Xada Beach Hotel GmbH & Co. KG, a Munich-based real estate investment vehicle. The hotel project evolved from an initial proposal of 91 rooms to the current plan for around 100 rooms, incorporating environmental considerations through strategic land plot transfers to the municipality. The development will include restoration of the beach club, rehabilitation of the old funicular, and comprehensive wellness facilities, with construction targeted to commence in 2027 and a projected opening between 2029 and 2030.
