Osaka Casino Resort Details Revealed in Architectural Document
Summary
An architectural document obtained by The Yomiuri Shimbun details the plans for Osaka’s first casino-centered integrated resort, slated to open around autumn 2030 on Yumeshima island. The resort, developed and operated by MGM Osaka Corp. (a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Orix Corp.), will feature a 27-story, 126-meter-high main tower, housing two hotels with approximately 1,840 rooms, a casino, and a theater. The casino itself will span 23,293 square meters and include around 470 table games and 6,400 electronic gaming machines. Additional facilities include a conference and exhibition center, a hotel with 660 rooms, and spaces for cultural experiences like tea ceremonies. The design of the guest portion of the main building is inspired by the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Local governments are also preparing measures to address potential gambling addiction concerns.
