Pennsylvania towns and counties benefit from PA casino gaming revenue
Summary
Pennsylvania’s casinos, both online and land-based, generated over $620 million in revenue in November, contributing to continued funding for local governments and community development. Lebanon County, for example, has received over $1 million through the Local Share Account funded by gaming taxes. These funds support various projects, including equipment for fire departments and infrastructure improvements. The state’s 22 licensed online casinos pay a 54% gaming tax, among the highest in the nation, and have surpassed $3 billion in revenue through 2025. The revenue stream, legalized in 2017, also supports nonprofits like the Westmoreland Food Bank. A new casino, Happy Valley Casino, is set to open in 2026, further boosting revenue.
