Casino Group has finalized the sale of its subsidiary, 3C Cameroun, to 2S Retail, the company behind the BAO Cash & Carry brand. This strategic move represents a shift in Casino’s international strategy, moving away from direct operations to a franchise model supported by local partners. Casino will continue to supply BAO Cash & Carry with its private-label products. BAO Cash & Carry, launched in 2018, has become a leading wholesale retailer with a hybrid model serving both individual consumers and over 3,000 professional clients, operating seven locations across Douala, Nkongsamba, and Limbé. 2S Retail has pledged to maintain BAO’s low-price strategy and preserve existing jobs, with plans to consolidate the business in 2026 before initiating a new expansion phase in 2027.
