Gun Lake Casino Resort provides $7.9 million in revenue sharing to state, local groups
Summary
Gun Lake Casino Resort and the Gun Lake Tribe have distributed $7.9 million in revenue sharing payments to the state of Michigan and local organizations. The payments, announced on December 18th, totaled $3.1 million for the state and $4.8 million for local entities. Tribal Chairman Bob Peters attributed the significant funds to the casino’s expansions, including the addition of a Hotel, Spa, and Oasis in 2025, and the dedication of its team members since the casino opened in 2011. The Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians, known as the Gun Lake Tribe, owns and operates the resort located in Wayland, Michigan. Past recipients of these funds have included local governments like Allegan County and the city of Wayland, as well as the Allegan Area Educational Service Agency and state organizations like the Michigan Strategic Fund.
