The Snuneymuxw First Nation is set to purchase the Great Canadian Casino Vancouver in Coquitlam through its economic development company, Petroglyph Development Group (PDG), pending regulatory approvals. Formerly known as Hard Rock Casino Vancouver until its licensing agreement expired at the end of 2023, the casino generated $140.2 million in revenue in the 2023/2024 fiscal year, ranking it fifth in revenue among casinos in British Columbia. This acquisition is part of a larger trend of First Nations acquiring casino properties in the province, with the Snuneymuxw First Nation having already acquired four other casinos in the past year, including River Rock Casino Resort.
