‘Extremely proud’: N.Y. company developing central Pa. casino receives state gaming license
Summary
Saratoga Casino Holdings LLC, a New York-based company, has been granted a gaming license by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to manage the Happy Valley Casino, planned to open in April at the Nittany Mall near Penn State University. CEO Sam Gerrity expressed the company’s pride in receiving the license, noting their 80 years in the horse racing industry and 20 years in casino operations. The $120 million mini-casino will feature 600 slot machines and 30 table games, including Blackjack, Roulette, and Craps, along with two eateries: Aces Social and Lucky Break Café. While there are no immediate plans for sports betting or live poker, these options are under consideration for the future. The project began with SC Gaming, who initially partnered with Bally’s before ultimately collaborating with Saratoga Casino Holdings.
