Remington Park Casino recently commemorated its 20th anniversary of casino operations, highlighting two decades of support for Oklahoma’s education system and economic growth. Opened on November 28, 2005, after the approval of State Question 712, which permitted electronic gaming at Oklahoma horse racing tracks, the facility initially began as a horse racetrack in 1988. In 2010, Global Gaming Solutions, a subsidiary of the Chickasaw Nation, acquired Remington Park. Dan Boren, chairman of Global Gaming Solutions, emphasized the pivotal role of Oklahoma voters in supporting State Question 712, which enabled the casino’s success and positive economic influence.
Since its inception, the casino has contributed over $400 million to Oklahoma’s general education fund. Economic analyses indicate that the state’s horse racing industry sustains approximately 40,000 jobs, both directly and indirectly. Global Gaming Solutions has directly funded Millwood Public Schools with over $2.4 million since the acquisition. Furthermore, RP Charities, the track’s fundraising initiative established in 2016, has generated over $4 million for various nonprofit organizations.
