The project faced a temporary halt earlier this year due to concerns about a company with alleged mob ties working on-site, and an investigation is ongoing. While the temporary casino at Medinah Temple has generated $270 million in revenue since 2023, it has fallen short of initial revenue projections, yielding $41 million in state taxes and $33.6 million for Chicago’s police and firefighter pensions. Bally’s is also pursuing a casino license in New York, with a potential $115 million payment to the Trump Organization.
