Gen Z and millennials turn to AI, gambling to try to tackle thousands in debt: study
Summary
A new survey from National Debt Relief and Wakefield Research reveals that desperate Gen Zers and millennials are turning to online gambling and AI to escape crushing debt. 65% of Gen Z and 49% of millennials who gamble say they do so to try to eliminate debt, far higher than older generations. Additionally, 69% of millennials and 64% of Gen Z use AI for money advice during financial struggles, citing judgment-free advice and approachability. Many feel more comfortable discussing finances with computers than with family or friends. The survey of 2,000 US adults highlights a shift in how younger generations seek financial help, with many owing $7,500 or more in unsecured debt.
