Calvia former Casino site set for luxury hotel revival
Summary
Blasson Property is set to develop a luxury hotel on the site of the former casino in Calvia, following the purchase of the adjacent beach club and land. The total investment is estimated at €175 million, with just over €40 million allocated to land acquisition and the remainder for development and refurbishment. The project, which aims to revive an asset unused since 2011, will feature around 100 rooms, a wellness centre, and the restoration of the funicular. Blasson is reportedly in discussions with luxury operators such as One&Only, Six Senses, Rosewood, and Banyan Tree. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with the hotel scheduled to open between 2029 and 2030, further strengthening Calvia's status as a premium Mediterranean destination.
