Gambling den operators in Bhopal are using sophisticated CCTV surveillance networks to evade police raids. They install cameras not only on their premises but also along roads and lanes within a one-kilometre radius, often at small shops and other establishments. The feeds are monitored continuously, and the cameras are connected via Wi-Fi to mobile phones, allowing remote surveillance. This was revealed during a Crime Branch raid on a den operated by notorious criminal Rusi Khan in Bajaria. Police used a drone camera for reconnaissance and conducted the raid in the early morning, catching the gamblers off guard. A similar setup was found in a raid in Kotwali area, where 24 gamblers were arrested. Operators use these systems to watch for police, rivals, and informers, and charge clients extra for the security. Rusi Khan, who escaped during the raid, was arrested on Thursday, while his family members were arrested earlier.
