The transaction, announced by DeSimone Gaming, requires approval from Nevada gaming regulators. The new owner plans to evaluate renovation options and new amenities. The property has a history dating back to 1961, originally opening as the Wheel Casino and later operating as the Eldorado before Boyd Gaming sold it in 2020. DeSimone Gaming revived it as The Pass in 2021. ECL Water Street LLC has been acquiring other downtown properties, including the Emerald Island and Rainbow Club casinos in January 2024. DeSimone Gaming will continue to operate the adjacent Atwell Suites hotel. The sale must clear the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Commission, which will conduct suitability and licensing reviews.
