Illegal gambling house in Maple Ridge runs out of luck
Summary
Police raids in Maple Ridge, Coquitlam, and Surrey led to the arrest of 11 individuals suspected of running an illegal gambling house. The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) launched the investigation in November and seized a shotgun with a suppressor, $34,000 in cash, and gambling equipment such as poker tables and ledgers. Three vehicles were also impounded. Six of the arrested individuals were already banned from B.C. casinos. Police emphasized that illegal gaming houses are often tied to organized crime and pose significant risks to public safety.
