Ho-Chunk touts Wisconsin-made beers that will be at Beloit casino
Summary
Ho-Chunk will highlight Wisconsin's brewing heritage by serving beers from seven Wisconsin-based breweries at its new Beloit casino, which opens to the public on Oct. 23. The breweries include Potosi Brewery, New Glarus Brewing Co., Duesterbeck's Brewing Co. in Elkhorn, Central Waters Brewing Co. in Amherst, Badger State Brewing Co. in Green Bay, Ale Asylum in Madison, and Door County Brewing Co. in Baileys Harbor. The casino, with four Ho-Chunk owned restaurant and eating areas, will also serve American Wagyu beef from Hall of Fame Farms in Muscoda, owned by former UW and NFL star Joe Thomas. Robert Reider, chief operations manager for the Ho-Chunk Nation, said featuring Wisconsin businesses shows visitors that Wisconsin is more than America's Dairyland and shares what the state offers along the I-90/I-39 corridor. The casino, near Willowbrook and Colley roads, is the first part of a 1.2-million-square-foot casino, hotel and convention center project expected to cost at least $705 million. Ground was broken in October 2024 after a 25-year process. The casino opens at 2 p.m. on Oct. 23 and will be Wisconsin's second largest with 1,300 slot machines and live table games including Blackjack, 3-Card Poker, Mississippi Stud, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat and live poker. The 18-story, 312-room hotel and convention center is expected to be complete in 2027, when Ho-Chunk is expected to employ as many as 1,500 people, making it Beloit's largest employer. Ho-Chunk currently operates six casinos in Wisconsin.
