The Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center in Cedar Rapids will open on Nov. 19, with a grand opening celebration on Dec. 5. Located at 777 Fourth St. NW, it is Linn County's first casino and features 700 slot machines, 22 table games, restaurants, bars, a STEM lab for kids, and a 1,500-seat entertainment venue. Developer Peninsula Pacific Entertainment (P2E) announced the opening date on Thursday. President and CEO Aaron Gomes expressed pride in the team and excitement for the community's support. Once open, the casino is expected to generate about $2 million annually in local property taxes, with 8% of net adjusted gross revenue pledged to nonprofits. It will support 400 full-time jobs, over half already filled; remaining openings are listed on the Cedar Crossing website.
