The Boys & Girls Club of Uvalde successfully held its inaugural "Double Down on Bright Futures" Casino Night fundraiser on August 29, 2026, at the 501 Ranch. The event, originally planned for the Uvalde Country Club but relocated due to flooding, attracted about 150 attendees. Through sponsorships, donations, and $100 ticket sales, the event raised over $66,000 gross, netting more than $54,000. This net amount will cover approximately 1.5 months of operations for the club, which serves 130 registered members aged 6 to 18. Organizers, including board members Tina Willis, Larri Wright, and others, plan to make Casino Night an annual fundraiser held on the weekend before Labor Day.
