Youth found dead after gambling den raid, protest at police station
Summary
Police in Amravati raided a gambling den on a farm owned by Nilesh Bhopche following a tip-off, catching nine people gambling with cards. During the raid, 33-year-old Suraj Chadokar fled and later died after falling into a farm well approximately 300 meters from the gambling den. Upon his body being recovered, approximately 300 villagers surrounded Morshi police station demanding action against the raiding team and compensation for the family, also objecting to conducting an autopsy. SDPO Umesh Patil and PI Waghmare held talks with protesters and assured a detailed inquiry.
