Casino revenue tops $6.8 million for North Bay since 2022
Summary
The City of North Bay has received a payment of $415,869 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting Cascades Casino North Bay. This brings the total revenue from the casino since it opened in March 2022 to over $6.8 million. Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli stated that these revenues allow the city to invest in infrastructure and provide funding for critical community services. The city has committed $1.5 million toward the new twin-pad arena at the Omischl Sports Complex, $200,000 to the medical wing at Elmwood Youth Centre, and $3 million to support a potential 24/7 low-barrier shelter to address homelessness.
