Live Casino Pittsburgh, which opened in 2020, has distributed $17 million in grants this week to municipalities and organizations across Westmoreland County. The funds will be used for a range of community needs, including police and fire department equipment, nonprofit projects, road resurfacing, bridge reconstruction, playground and park improvements, and stormwater upgrades. City Councilman Gregory Mertz said the money is a lifeblood after the COVID‑era downturn. Since the casino began operations, Westmoreland County has received a total of $75 million in funding.
