Las Vegas woman married numerous men for casino cash in bigamy scam, authorities say - Los Angeles Times
Summary
Jiaying Chen, 33, pleaded guilty to one count of bigamy and one count of obtaining money under false pretenses after a scheme that saw her marry more than a dozen men in Las Vegas while already married. From March 2019 to May 2026, she filed 15 marriage applications, resulting in eight valid certificates, and used the alias “Vicky Liang” to submit eight more applications that produced seven additional certificates.
Prosecutors say Chen stole roughly $138,000 from at least three of the men, claiming the money was for sick relatives but actually used to gamble. She lost about $300,000 at the Wynn casino in the last year, and could face up to 24 years in prison when sentenced next month.
