Hollywood Casino Aurora is launching a new $360 million land-based casino located at 2500 N. Farnsworth Ave., just off I-88. This new facility replaces the long-standing riverboat location on the Fox River, which closed earlier this month and is slated for demolition and city redevelopment.
The new venue features over a thousand slot machines, numerous table games, a sportsbook, various restaurants, a hotel, and a spa. The casino will operate 24/7, with its grand opening scheduled for Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
Rafael Verde, senior vice president of operations for PENN Entertainment, noted that the new location is ideally situated to offer a wide array of entertainment and dining. Additionally, customers can cash in unused chips from the old riverboat location at the new site until the end of the year.
