The province stated that GCE will be responsible for the cost of construction and relocation, while the province will cover the gaming equipment expenses through the Nova Scotia Gaming Corp. The province will exercise its right to buy the existing casino property from GCE for one dollar just prior to the sale to a third party, ensuring a temporary transfer of ownership to the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation before the final transfer to the buyer. The province also noted that legislation exempts it and the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation from paying deed transfer tax during this temporary transfer process.
