DigiPlus seeks to boost offline casino business
Summary
DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the company behind BingoPlus and ArenaPlus, is strategically expanding into land-based casinos through a P12 billion investment in International Entertainment Corp. (IEC), the owner and operator of New Coast Hotel and LaVie Casinos. The first P6 billion payment was made in early March, with the final payment due by the end of May or early June. This acquisition will combine DigiPlus’s digital entertainment expertise with IEC’s hospitality and gaming management skills, creating an omnichannel ecosystem for players. DigiPlus aims to become a “one-stop shop” offering both online and land-based entertainment options, and is also focused on enriching its digital platform with more content. The New Coast Hotel Manila, formerly New World Hotel Manila, currently features 203 guest rooms, 96 gaming tables, and 495 slot machines.
