The Nevada Gaming Commission has approved the licensing of Club Fortune Casino North, a sister property to a Henderson casino, to operate in the building previously occupied by the Poker Palace in North Las Vegas. The casino, operated by Truckee Gaming LLC, is slated to reopen in mid-April following extensive renovations. Unlike its predecessor, Club Fortune will not offer poker or other table games, but will feature a race and sports book, including parimutuel horse racing wagers, after consultation with Boomer’s Sportsbook operator Joe Asher. Truckee Gaming owner Ferenc Szony described the casino’s new aesthetic as a blend of Excalibur and Circus Circus. Approximately 100 positions remain to be filled, with priority given to former Poker Palace employees. The approvals for Boomer’s Sportsbook at Club Fortune North, Grand Lodge Casino, and Stockman’s Casino contribute to Boomer’s rapid growth as a sportsbook company in Nevada.
